Athabasca University: BSc Computing & Information Systems

2015-2020

Completed third year of study in an independent distance education in a program that covers a broad base of skills including: computer programming, networking, business communications, organizational behavior, critical reasoning, and mathematics. Due to the pandemic I was unable to complete the course. Once the pandemic had ended, I pursued and obtained a more focused diploma through Centennial College.

IT Support Technician

2018-Present

Provided front-line technical support in a customer contact center with 400+ staff on site for a variety of campaigns. Duties included, but were not limited to:

  • Troubleshooting and service user stations (Windows & MacOS), printers, network equipment, and mobile telecommunication devices.
  • Provide friendly and professional support to members at all levels of the organization.
  • Re-image and deploy workstations for both on-site and remote staff.
  • Work with various teams to develop, deploy, and support new campaigns as needed.
  • Work independently, or as a team, to plan and deploy major system updates or network changes.
  • Administer user accounts and systems via Active Directory, SCCM, BigFix, and JAMF.
  • Track and update requests in a ticketing system.
  • Maintain inventories and records using a variety of methods.
  • Engage in continuous learning.

Photo Restoration & Electronics Repair

2011-2014

Employed as the sole employee of a small independent photo studio specializing in photo restoration, digitization of legacy formats, canvas stretching, dry mounting, and aerial photography.

  • Provided friendly and professional customer service. Working with customers to review their needs and select the best option
  • Prepare quotes for large jobs.
  • Preform photo restoration by scanning damaged prints, negatives, or other mediums.
  • Digitize 8mm film, VHS tapes, slides, negatives, or other legacy media to preserve family history.
  • Troubleshoot and repair cameras, lights, printers, VCRs, projectors, computers, or other equipment (often without service manuals) to ensure continued operation of the studio.
  • Prepare files for large format printing.
  • Dry mount prints onto hard board.
  • Print and stretch canvases up to 56" square.
  • Design and build electronics projects to enhance the studio services.
  • Maintain and repair a fleet of aerial photography drones.
